Cinnamon Spice, & Everything Nice

Cinnamon Spice, & Everything Nice

It's Fall ya'll! How is that even possible!? With it officially being that time of year for pumpkin spice lattes and campfires I wanted to share with you all 5 super simple ways to get your home Fall ready! These steps can be used for each season & holiday by switching each item out to go with that time of year.

Purchasing decorations for each season can be so expensive! I'm not one to go all out for Halloween but I still want my home to feel cozy and fall-like as soon as Summer is over. If you're a minimalist or even on a budget then these steps will be perfect to get you in the spirit of the season! Let's get started!

1) Cinnamon Sticks

Any kind of potpourri is always good to have in your home to keep it smelling fresh all year round. I love using Cinnamon sticks in the Fall. Not only because they smell good, but because they make the cutest decor. They are also very inexpensive. Put a handful in a jar, a bucket, or just wrap them in twine and place them on a stack of books! Cinnamon sticks can also transition over to winter, so you can get really good use out of them.

2) Floral

If you don't have any faux floral I would absolutely suggest finding yourself some. For one; you can't kill fake flowers, and two; there are so many pretty options! To me, switching out your wreaths and floral makes the biggest impact and takes hardly any time! I like to use old jars and pitchers to hold my stems and flowers.

3) Blankets & Pillows

Everyone needs a plaid throw blanket to keep around during the holidays! Obviously blankets are practical to have but they can also add instant decor by hanging them from a ladder, or draping one over a chair. Pillows are also such a great way to transition seasons. Try making your own pillow this year by buying a plain pillow cover and a fall themed iron on decal. Pillows can be pricey so that is an inexpensive and fun DIY project to add some Fall charm to your living room!

4) Candles

Alright, who doesn't love candles? All I need is an apple pie scented candle and I am ready for the holidays! Changing out your candles is so easy and can add so much warmth and coziness to a room. I like to look for candles that not only smell amazing, but that also look pretty so I can use them as decor.

Last but not least..

5) Signs

There is no more obvious way to know you have decorated for the season than to have a sign that says it! I use my mantle to hold signs for different times of the year. Another fun way to incorporate signage is to find downloadable prints and put them in picture frames around your house. Picture frames are something I always have extra of, and prints are usually fairly inexpensive!

That's it! If you are unsure how to get your home ready for a new season try one or all of these ideas! Finding affordable but beautiful ways to decorate can be difficult. I always shop at discount stores for holiday decor because it isn't something that is up all year round. Everything listed in this post costs me just under $130.00! A few of my favorite places to shop for seasonal items are; Hobby Lobby, Tuesday Morning, Tj Maxx, HomeGoods, Amazon, and local flea markets/consignment stores. Don't forget to have fun and make it your own, Happy Fall everyone!
