Neutral Valentines Day Decor

Neutral Valentines Day Decor

I'm going to come right out and say it.. I love Valentines Day! I pretty much love every holiday, honestly. Valentines Day though, I really do enjoy! Let me tell you why, for those of you who roll your eyes every year at the people who go out to dinner and get each other chocolates and teddy bears. Valentines Day is a celebration of love. It's a reminder and an opportunity to reach out to your significant other or loved ones to just remind them what they mean to you! It can be done with a simple hand made card, or a few pretty stems. Nothing fancy! No matter how you decide to show your love, I think it's important that we all take some time to do so on Valentines Day!

If you want your home to become a little festive for February, without breaking the bank, I have a few fun ideas & crafts for you to try out! Use these ideas in your home, apartment, or even as decor for a party or classroom!

DIY wooden XO - These letters were so easy to make! I used scrap pallet wood and nailed the pieces together and spray painted them white. You could also go to your local craft store and find letters and paint them! This is an easy way to instantly add Valentines charm to your space.

Chalk Board - Get out your chalk pens and get to writing! Update any of your signs or chalkboards with love quotes, or songs!

Romantic Candles - If you haven't figured it out yet, I love candles. So, any excuse I have to use them I just go for it! Put away those Christmas scents and find something that is sweet and soft for February.

Fresh Flowers - I found these gorgeous Tulips at my local grocery store, but you could use any type of fresh flower you like. Roses would be perfect for Valentines Day.

Candy - Incorporate some "hugs & kisses" into your space with chocolate! Nothing says Valentines day like candy! Just try not to eat all yourself..

Fabric Garland - I used scrap drop-cloth to make this incredibly easy garland for my mantle. I love the way it softens the wood and adds a little brightness to the dark rock!

I gathered up all my decor that I thought would work well for my February mantle and I love the way it all turned out. It is sweet and soft but also adds just enough color to my living room.
