Cabin Update: 8.12.17.
As I am writing this it is 11:45pm on a Friday night and I am exhausted.
This pretty much sums up my life right now. The cabin has come SO far since I last updated everyone. We have worked long and hard to get this thing finished on schedule. It has been a blast sharing the details through my Instagram photos and stories, but it's hard to share everything, so I thought I would go ahead make a post to share all of the photos of how everything is looking currently!
We have made some big changes, people! We have flooring, tile, cabinets, windows, painted walls, and counter tops. Painting the interior has made such a drastic difference in the way it feels when you walk in. It feels so much more like a house and not just a construction zone! Oh, and I can't forget about the windows. The windows we choose ended up being on back order, of course. So we waited, and waited for them to get installed. That is a story for another time but lets just say we were very relieved when they finally got installed.
We chose a natural engineered hardwood for the cabin flooring. We wanted something simple with a little bit of a rustic touch.
The tile in laundry room is large dark gray textured tile.
One of my favorite touches to the cabin, the bathroom floor! It is a black and white hexagon tile.
If you watched any of my insta stories from a few weeks ago, you probably saw this piece of furniture on it. I am so pleased with the way it is turning out!
Matt built the beautiful island in the kitchen and I absolutely love the way the counter tops look with it. The cabinets still have to be painted. But we are so close!
As I am finishing this post it is 8:24 AM on a Saturday. We are getting ready to head out to the lake and keep working! This cabin has been a HUGE labor of love, but I know it will all be worth it.
Has anyone built a house before? What was your experience with it? I would love to hear in the comment section below!
