A trip to the Farmers Market
If you have never visited the Fayetteville Farmers Market, (or any farmers market) it is definitely something to see! Not only is it a super fun Saturday morning activity to enjoy with friends and family, but it supports your local farms and growers and small business owners!
Some of my favorite items to buy at the Farmers Market:
Bread - The fresh bread. Oh. My Gosh. There is nothing like it. I love getting bread that has ingredients like cranberries and nuts so I can toast it up and eat it for breakfast! My absolute favorite local bread is Ozark Natural Breads.
Flowers - Picking the best ones: look for the flowers that haven't fully opened up or aren't all the way bloomed. These will last longer and stay the freshest! Don't be afraid to ask the florist to give you specific stems, they won't mind. Be sure to get your flowers home as soon as possible and into some fresh water to keep them from wilting.
Vegetables - Honestly, you can't beat fresh veggies. Make sure to rinse them off and enjoy!
Pottery - I can always find the most unique and interesting pieces of pottery! I like to look for large bowls or coffee mugs. Having a one of a kind piece in my kitchen is so much fun and tells a story!
If you are planning on doing any shopping and not just browsing, you are going to want to bring a tote of some kind with you to store all of your goodies. My new favorite tote to bring with me is the Valerie Rene Gingham Market Tote. This adorable bag comes in 5 different colors and is perfect for trips to the market or grocery. My bag is in the color "Mint", but I might just have to buy myself the gray one because I love that one also! The size of the Market Tote is perfect! Not too big, but leaves plenty of room for all of my purchases.
